Woolloongabba is undergoing an urban renewal in Brisbane and is fast becoming the ‘go to’ for the city’s food and drink culture. As Grinders Coffee continues its re-emergence as a true specialty coffee brand in the Australian market – the location for their new state of the art retail and immersion hub was perfectly aligned.

On the back of completing their Victorian flagship on Lygon St in 2016, the best. design to life team partnered with Grinders to take their transformed customer experience and immersion strategy to the ‘next level’.

As a first for the brand – retail, café, training and state operations are all be under the ‘one-roof’ and the result represents the next stage of Grinders’ plan for specialty coffee hubs in each state around Australia.

‘Premium grunge’ underpinned our design aesthetic philosophy for the space as we sought to pay respect to the base build transformation of the iconic Logan and Ipswich Road development in the ‘Gabba’ whilst challenging the power of design in transforming immersive coffee experiences.

This site does it all – allows customers to be taken on a coffee journey, heroes the new ‘Foundation’ blend (roasted and packaged at the Lygon St specialty roasting facility) and introduces the new retail strategy ‘Grinders at Home’ which encourages customers to enjoy what they tasted at home. All set amongst the daily buzz of an immersive, state-of-the art specialty coffee training facility specifically designed for Grinders’ customers.
